Living with back pain can be difficult, if not just totally draining. Nothing can be more exhausting than figuring out how you’re going to get your pants on when you can’t even bend down to pick them up.
I had one such incident before, and finally decided to visit a Salt Lake City Chiropractor. The doc was great, but I still have to admit I was a bit concerned. My back pain was severe and I wanted no part of anything that I thought would make it feel worse.
The doc sat me down, explained my problem to me in terms I could understand (and that’s saying something!). After that, he determined I needed an x-ray. I was concerned about it at first, because some places say that you never need an x-ray. This guy made sense, though, so I went through with it.
I was happy to see some parts of the x-ray, but also was concerned to see so much degeneration going on in my back. I guess it’s a common thing, but that doesn’t make it fun when it’s your back having the issue. I once went to a Portland Chiropractor that tried to show me the same stuff, but I guess I wasn’t really ready to listen to him.
If I ever get by way of Texas, I really want to visit this Houston Chiropractor I’ve heard so much about. I guess I should make sure that it’s okay with everyone that I see multiple chiropractors. I travel so much that in order for me to be consistent with any treatment, it would take more than one to get the job done.
Hello my fellow Zumba fitness instructors!! I have been asked several times about proper warm-ups and cool downs. By textbook, a WARM UP is to prepare the body for vigorous exercise and may reduce the risk of injury. When I do an instructor training class for group exercise or Zumba fitness master class I always tell my students to think about what they are going to be doing in class and to use the warm up to get the body ready for those types of moves. For example, in Zumba (Latin type classes) you want to warm your class up with directional movements, arm movements, hip movements and feet movement to name a few. When planning your warm up you want to keep this in mind. LASTLY, your warm up should be very carefree…I usually don’t choreograph this portion of my Zumba class.
I just MOVE, focus on what I mentioned above and use this time to GET IN TUNE WITH MY ZUMBA CLASS. I usually talk and “have fun”, make eye contact and smile at each person and I also watch my class and see how they are moving with these basic moves in the warm-up it usually tells me a lot. I can then adjust my Zumba class accordingly. If there is a new move in one of your Zumba routines, the warm up is a great place to “show it” so then when that routine comes up they have already been introduced and they will feel more accomplished when they do that new Zumba workout! OKAY…NOW THE OTHER END..THE COOL DOWN..by text book the purpose of the cool down is to provide a transitional period between the “work” segment and the stretch/muscular strengthening segments of your class.
Without a gradual cool down period, the blood can pool in the extremities immediately and cause fainting. Moderate to slow rhythmic movements for the upper and lower body will enable the muscles of the extremities to pump the blood back to the heart and brain. You want to use this time to bring the heart rate back down (100 beats or less). U really want to use the easy foot movement (side to side)…a slow salsa.. to bring the heart rate down…use movements that stretch the areas of the body that you worked in the “work” segment of your class…eventually stopping and stretching for the full range of motion.. this is where I put on some sexy salsa slow music in my Zumba workout or for other classes slow funky music and stretch and talk to the class…see how they liked it and “bond” with them…this is an opportunity to build relationships with your Zumba classes…they are your number one marketing tool! You take care of them then they will take care of you. The power of word of mouth is amazing! To see proper warm ups being used in a Zumba video check out www.darsfitness.com
Also if you are looking to advertise, use key people in your classes…get email addresses…people in your classes have businesses that they can put flyer up or maybe you can get an email list from them or give the flyer to them that they can forward!!!
Next time I will be talking about liability issues, fun stuff huh!!! lol…

My personal trainer Plano has showed me that I can fit exercise into my busy schedule! For years I tried to exercise, but by the time I left work, I just didn’t have the energy to go to the gym. It wasn’t that exercise itself was a turnoff, but the traveling there and the long waits for equipment is what made me push it aside. Deep down I knew I could make time if I really wanted to, but for some reason, I just didn’t.
One day I was doing a random search on the Internet for Plano personal trainers, and stumbled across Lady Trainers To Go. I was immediately impressed with what they had to offer–I was able to get a great workout within the comfort of my own home with a female trainer. It’s been six months since I made the phone call and I couldn’t be happier with my personal trainer in Plano. She is so skillful, so knowledgeable and so creative when it comes to keeping me focused on my goals. In the short time I’ve been working out with my Plano personal trainer, I have learned a lot of important things that will help me maintain a healthy lifestyle.
My in-home trainer has been so patient and so helpful–I’m not quite sure why it took me so long to try this! Take it from me—there is time for exercise—you just have to want a healthy lifestyle bad enough. Don’t procrastinate like I did–make the call today.
Roast turkey is a fabulous meal not just for a Thanksgiving meal, but anytime of the year. The following roast turkey recipe is a straight forward way to prepare a mouthwatering meal.
Choose a plump turkey, about seventeen pounds. Remove giblets and the neck from inside the turkey. Clean and dry thoroughly inside and out then liberally rub it with kosher salt. In a small bowl, combine one tablespoon of crumbled rosemary, two teaspoons ground sage, two teaspoons of dried thyme, one teaspoon of salt and one teaspoon of pepper. Rub this mixture in each cavity. Be sure to save a bit of this spice mix.
Take your favorite sage and onion stuffing and loosely pack in into the cavity. Once completed sew the cavity closed or use cotton string and small lacing skewers to close the cavity. Tuck in the turkey wings and be sure any loose skin is tucked in.
Extra flavor can be added while cooking the turkey by wrapping bacon strips around the thighs and the wings. Using melted butter, brush the top of the turkey and sprinkle it with some paprika, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
Cook the uncovered turkey at 375 degrees, baste frequently with pan juices, turkey or chicken broth. After an hour, baste and using the remaining spice mixture, sprinkle the bird with this seasoning. Form a tent out of aluminum foil and cover the turkey breast loosely. Lower the oven temperature to 325 degrees and cook another hour, basting occasionally.
Remove foil and continue cooking until a temperature reading reads 165 degrees(inserted into the thickest portion of the thigh).Once the turkey has been cooked thoroughly and is golden brown, let it sit for fifteen minutes. This allows it to set therefore making it easier to carve. Prepare your favorite vegetables and turkey gravy to accompany the roast turkey.
Over the last few years home gardening has become an increasingly popular past-time and hobby. In fact, studies show that home gardening is at an all time high in Scotland right now. In the United States 8 out of 10 households take part in some type of home gardening activity. Obviously from the number of people that are doing it, home gardening is one of the most popular recreational activities in country.
Most people that try their hand at home gardening plant flowers; at least they start out planting flowers anyway. Roses will probably be the first thought into any gardeners mind, but roses will take extra time and work, and should probably be left to those who have gardened before. When planting flowers many choices are available, such as bulbs, perennials, and annuals.
Edible plants are another big thing in home gardening. Perhaps the best thing about edibles is the reward of eating fresh food. The list of fruit and vegetables that gardeners can grow at home is endless. Some of the most common edible plants in the vegetable arena are, potatoes, peas, corn, carrots, squash, and cucumber. Many gardeners opt for fruits, such as, watermelons, tomatoes, peaches, plums, apples, pears, and apricots. Small fruits, such as strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries usually require less work and less space, making them much more feasible for home gardening. The growing of herbs, most often used as spices in cooking, are growing in popularity every day ; some of the most grown include basil, thyme, oregano, parsley, and cilantro. One of the most important things to watch for when planting edibles is insects and disease, after all, you don’t want to miss out on the feast you will get to enjoy from healthy plants.
There is not much difference between home gardening and gardening anywhere else. Plants still need to be planted in a good location. The plants still need water and they still need the same nutrients. Home gardening shouldn’t make anyone to get nervous. If you do decide to try homing gardening and finding out that you don’t have green hands, don’t get discouraged. Get some information, visit a good gardens directory and read up on gardening, and try sowing it again the next growing season.
Many people do not realize it, but landscaping is a form of home gardening. Landscaping covers many different areas and forms of gardening. You can even classify mowing your lawn as landscaping! Keeping in the line of grasses, landscaping nearly always involves decorative grasses, and the great thing about them is they don’t take much work for upkeep. Types of grass include monkey grass, pampas, buffalo grass, flame grass, and ornamental millet. Landscaping is not just limited to plant life, but also includes anything done to a yard for decoration, such as adding rocks or stones, putting a small pond, statutes, or a waterfall.

Bad Breath or Halitosis is primarily caused by the bacteria dwelling in different parts of our mouth. This type of bacteria, which is allegedly anaerobic, thrives in the oxygen depleted parts of the tongue, teeth and gums. It finds nourishment in the dental plaque accumulation on the top of our teeth, around the gum line and below it. Coincidentally, the places where plaque can most probably accumulate are the most oxygen-deprived places in the mouth. Previous studies show direct correlation between the plaque accumulation and the bacteria that may cause halitosis.
Aside from being one of the sources of the bacteria that causes halitosis, there are certain types of food that can make our breath smell. Onion, garlic, and other spices may cause the breath of one person to smell bad upon intake. However, the smell caused by these pungent herbs can be eliminated more quickly and easily than the smell caused by anaerobic bacteria.
The bacteria that cause halitosis get nourishment from the food that we eat also. They get nourishment from protein rich foods like meat, fish and milk. This is where proper dental hygiene comes in!
Dry mouth (more properly known as Xerostomia) occurs when the flow of saliva decreases in the mouth. Saliva does a major role in cleansing different parts of the mouth and removing particles that may bring about or worsen the foul smell of bad breath. Thus, having dry mouth can also cause halitosis.
A number or illnesses may also cause halitosis. Some unwarranted nasal discharges and other biological secretions may come out through mouth and can cause it to be a bit smelly. Tonsillitis, bronchitis and other chronic lung infections, Sinusitis, Gastritis, and other throat infections are to name a few. Uncontrolled diabetes may produce a fruity breath while liver failure usually brings about a fishy smell. These are just a few bad breath remedies.
None of the above comments are intended to diagnose or cure any disease. When treating a disease always seek out the advice of a licensed physician.
